It’s finally happening, folks. This year, the average time Americans spend with digital media each day will surpass traditional TV viewing time. That’s according to eMarketer’s latest estimates of media consumption among adults.

The average adult will spend more than five hours per day online and on non-voice mobile activities (read: texting, apps, games). That’s compared to an average four hours and 31 minutes each day of TV watching.

Daily TV time will actually be down slightly this year, while digital media consumption will be up nearly 16 percent. Traditional TV is dead, which is why digital viewing is gaining. Surfing traditional TV is viewing info-mercials, and all the other garbage commercials.

To try and compete with the new media the cable companies raised their rates. They must have the same management as our casinos.

I no longer have Traditional Cable, i have a Roku 2 and a smart TV. I also watch allot of TV stuff on my Computer.

I am starting to sign up for and pay for more and more content.
In the long run I will end up paying more per month than the 90$ I was paying for Cable 6 years ago, but i feel empowered that I pick what I pay for and when I watch it.

You can really entertain yourself just off inter net content (Free) for years.

Youtube, Hulu, cbs.com ect and it more than any one person can watch in a day.
