Opinion: Public deserves better from McClintock
Publisher’s note: This editorial is from the Aug. 10, 2013, Sacramento Bee.
It’s completely reasonable for rural residents and elected leaders to have concerns and questions about the proposed listing of two yellow-legged frog species and the Yosemite toad under the Endangered Species Act.
But the public forum organized by Rep. Tom McClintock, R-Granite Bay, earlier this month wasn’t anything close to an even-handed look at this issue. It was a stacked hearing – part of a coordinated campaign to rile up rural Californians against the federal government and environmental protections in general.
Good for him. He let the people who will be directly affected in on what is amiss,
This article is nothing more than a political hack job from two very biased “news” sources, the Bee and Lake Tahoe News.
Tom McClintock is a consistant fighter for smaller government and the Constitution, that earns him the hate of the leftists and they constantly attack the man for his efforts to keep America free.
I judge a man by the nature of his enemies and in Tom’s case his enemies are the enemies of free people and free enterprise and I respect him for taking on that fight.
The leftists are destroying freedom in California and the USA and undermining our Constitution, he is one of the few that is willing to fight to turn it around.
The Federal government certainly doesn’t play “fair”. Why should our Representative?
That far left socialist rag, wait I’m being too nice,
clearly indicates Tom is the man for the people. Not the wack jobs who wrote this editorial. Rumor has it Josef Goebbels great grandson runs the program at the B. How pathetic a once lousy newspaper has further degenerated to become the fish wrap of choice.
sorry boys, judging from the comment above – the editorial is spot on!
why so sexist james.
McClintock does not represent the views of many of his constituents. Only time will tell if enough of them come out and vote him out during the next election.
McClintock is an idiot
It is not that we deserve better FROM McClintock; we deserve better THAN McClintock.
“McClintock does not represent the views of many of his constituents”
Neither do Diane Feinstein and Barbara Boxer. But we’ve been stuck with them for a generation.
