This summer, one woman, one horse, and one dog began at the Utah border and journeyed across Nevada – up and over 14 mountain ranges, ending in Reno one month later.

Along the way they battled wild weather, wild animals, and wild terrain – in an effort to encourage wild horse adoption.

Local equestrienne Samantha Szesciorka will give a detailed presentation on her 450-mile solo horseback ride on Aug. 24 at 4pm at the Wilbur D. May Museum at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park in Reno.

Cost is $5.
