This video was shot by Bill Kingman in 1977 on the South Shore. Nearly everything seen on the California side has been razed-replaced, while the Nevada side has changed names and shapes and has grown considerably.

Thanks for the blast from the past! That was the one summer I worked at Harrah’s, the only job I ever had that had a drink token attached to every paycheck.

I worked at Harvey’s in 1974–there was a Keno board, and a Kenorunner, in the employee cafeteria. Drink tokens galore.Had forgotten La Baer motel–did anyone save those stuffed bears?

It was nice to see the Sahara when it was a real casino not the shadow of itself today. I loved Cecil’s back in the day. The best Deli in South Shore. Thanks for the memories Bill.

What ever happened to the Harvey’s “Top of the Wheel” neon sign….I bet it is worth a mint.

    Great film…brings back memories!
