Updated: Sept. 30 8:45am
A 61-year-old Rancho Cordova man died Friday morning when the motorcycle he was riding drove head-on into a Jeep Liberty.
According to the California Highway Patrol, David White was going east on Highway 50 near Echo Summit when he crossed the double yellow line and hit the Jeep being driven by Arthur Schallock.
Shallock, 89, and his wife, Dona, 86, sustained minor injuries. The Sonoma couple was transported to Barton Memorial Hospital.
The cause of the accident is under investigation. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

In case anyone is unaware, Street Vibrations is going on now, they are not just in Reno and Sparks. I hear them driving by as I type this comment.
RIP sir.
God Bless. RIP.
Another motorcycle was rear ended in front of the car wash on highway 50 yesterday around 3:20. The man was laying in the middle of the two east bond lanes when I passes. Lots of bikes for the next few days.
On my way to Tahoe with my husband a man in a green Subaru decided I wasn’t going fast enough so he missed me by inches while speeding around me (two lane highway) and then getting back in the right lane he almost hit my husband who was riding in front of me. What the hell is the matter with people? Is the sound of my motorcycle so disturbing that you are willing to murder me?
We drove passed the accident site on Sept 27th, and it was so sad to see the climbers getting ready to repel down off of hwy 50 to bring him up. my thoughts with his friends and family. Once again, reminds us all how quickly life can be taken from us. . be safe people.
