Snippets about Lake Tahoe
• South Lake Tahoe Mayor Tom Davis will give a state of the city address on Nov. 5 at 9am at Lake Tahoe Airport.
• Tahoe Donner is hosting a winter job fair Oct. 19 from 11am-6pm at the Northwoods Clubhouse located at 11509 Northwoods Blvd.
• Charter Communications customers in the South Lake Tahoe area will soon have access to more than 150 high definition channels as part of an all-digital upgrade. Charter this summer began clearing all analog signals from its local network, making way to add more than 130 HD channels in El Dorado, Placer and Douglas counties.
• “Lake Tahoe: Can We Save It?” is a 30-minute documentary produced by KQED television producer Gabriela Quiros. It examines the lake’s storied history and the small army of scientists and others who are working daily to turn back the clock to a time when you could see 100 feet down into its blue waters.
Charter needs to provide better service. I could care less about all digital channels. I would just like my service to be better. Not fun watching TV that constantly has the volume going up and down from scene to scene and channel to channel, sound warbles then the whole system shuts off by itself. They need more choices for cable providers here. Charter will just raise the already high prices they charge for lousy service.
Charter out in Meyers is a mess but I refuse to get a dish that I will have to clear of snow during the winter.
