Study: Illegal drug use declines at work, Rx drugs increase

More workers are just saying no, at least by one measure.
The share of U.S. workers testing positive for drugs has dropped sharply since 1988, according to an analysis of millions of drug tests being released Monday by medical-testing company Quest Diagnostics Inc.
Positive workplace tests for cocaine and marijuana have gone down sharply over the past two decades. Workers may have gotten more sophisticated when it comes to passing drug tests, however, especially for marijuana, as government studies show that its use is rising.
Meanwhile, data suggest that abuse of prescription drugs is a growing worry for employers.
Isn’t this basically an inevitability when living in a “give a pill”, “take a pill” instant gratification society and how it pertains to health care?
Not to mention the fact that American medicine is based more on prescribing a cure than averting the onset of illness.
Hmmm. Will the schools think twice before demanding that parents put their kids on Ritalin now? Probably not. Discipline is hard.
Schools can’t demand a child be medicated.

Why do coke when meth is much cheaper. Huge “Tina” problem here in South Tahoe. I was offered a rock of it just the other day. Never had seen the stuff before but it looks suspiciously like driveway salt. Why it was offered to me, I really couldn’t tell you. Perhaps because my hair is long and looked (is this profiling?) like a meth freak…. Sorry I have all of my teeth. Yes, the techniques for not testing positive for pot have gotten much more sophisticated. As far as the RX drugs go. Hey, no problem. Go to the doc. Complain about back pain or some such stuff. Get a script for Norco or Percocet. Now you are golden because if it comes up on your tox screen you are legal because it is a “recognized” medication. (Unlike that green leafy stuff) Plus now that you have a script and a vial, you can procure it anyway you need to and still be “legal”
Sorry, Fish, I’ve seen it done. Watched it happen to a friend’s family right here in SLT, about 10 years ago. Still watching the kids wrestle with resulting drug problems.

dogula-Calif. now has laws preventing forced meds on kids so you are wrong-again-I suppose some twisted religious deviants would like to use the methods of ‘To Train Up a Child’ for discipline cause the bible tells me so

A demand is usually something backed by some kind of force.
I know that.
For example, I can demand that you start believing that the earth is billions of years old. But there is absolutely no consequence for not doing it….
