South Shore to host restaurant week in January
California has been doing a restaurant week in January for a handful of years and the South Shore is going to participate in 2014 for the first time.
Tahoe South Restaurant Week will be Jan. 10-17.
Restaurants wanting to know more about this event are asked to attend an informational meeting Nov. 20 at 4:30pm at Riva Grill.
Thirty-three areas in California participated this year. The goal is to drive business to restaurants. The consumer benefits by receiving deals throughout the week.
The consumer doesn’t benefit much. Usually you can dine out for a reasonable price without relying on this kind of a promotion.
It’s just a way to get people to think they’re getting something special~like a cash mob. It really only benefits the participating businesses.
This is something that is promoted by VisitCalifornia, to encourage more tourism
Even if it only benefits the participating businesses, isn’t that a good thing? My guess is any consumer who buys a ticket probably feels they are benefiting too so this sounds like a great win-win and kudos to those who are working to drum up whatever business they can muster and to those who are supporting their efforts.
