SLT should act immediately to get the Wooden Boat Show scheduled at South Shore (California) for 2014. There is usually a smaller Wooden Boat Show at Keys Marina – but if it is expanded there, they would have to organize parking and shuttle service. Anyway, lots of $$ to be made if SLT acts quickly and seizes the opportunity in a SMART and timely way.

Irish Wahini, I’m with you on the wooden boat show on So. Shore. Parking would be a problem but maybe that new lot going in at cove east will be completed by then.
A wooden boat is way to expensive for me to own but they are cool to look at and listen to as they idle at the dock… blub, blub, blub.
One year a guy brought an old wooden row boat in original condition, paint peeling and in much need of some work. It was shown complete with an old fishing pole with reel and tackle from that era, an old newspaper on the bench seat and a few empty cans of Falstaff on the floor. It also had a 1940’s era outboard on the back(I’ve got 2 of those myself, and they run!) It was a classic! Lets get those boats in the Keys! The beatuitful Thunderbird make an appearence?
Go for it SLT, this could be a big draw for tourists and locals alike. OLS
