This is a good project,
There used to be millions of Sugar Pine trees all around the Tahoe basin but most were removed during the Silver Boom in the Virgina City Silver Rush of the 1800s. there are thousands of them at the bottom of the lake that sunk in route to Glenbrook where they were hauled to the top of Spooner summit by rail and put into the flume that went into the Carson Valley to the mill for use in the mines. Great trees and beautiful Pine Cones. They grow to huge sizes.
