A house in Truckee was destroyed Wednesday when a drug lab blew up, according to police officers.

Douglas Hall, 54, received burns to his face and hands, according to police. His girlfriend and daughter were not injured.

Hall faces charges of suspicion of possession of concentrated cannabis, manufacturing controlled substances with chemicals and felony child endangerment.

“Investigation revealed the blast was the result of a butane honey oil extraction process that went awry,” officers said in a statement. The explosion was reported at 4:44pm April 16.

Officers found more than 1,000 empty cans of butane, police said.

As strong as modern pot is why risk your life trying to concentrate it? Can’t you just take a couple more hits?

I have been smoking for over 20 years and the new wave of butane smokers are nothing but new age crack heads. What happened to cold water hash? Even they way they have to smoke butane makes them look like tweakers. Pot or not you’re making crack so have fun in jail.

This is why pot cultivation should not be allowed in resedential areas and near schools. In my neighborhood it stinks all the time now and im just waiting for some type of tragedy to occur. Im 2 blocks away from an elementary school and can smell the skunks there as well. The growers are not being proactive and the authorities have been contacted. I hope it ends with the eviction of a few residents that are ruining the safety of our neighborhood.
