Report: Climate change will lead to less nutritional food

Climate change threatens to undermine not only how much food can be grown but also the quality of that food as altered weather patterns lead to a less desirable harvest, according to a study.

Crops grown by many of the nation’s farmers have a lower nutritional content than they once did, according to the report by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.

Research indicates that higher carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere have reduced the protein content in wheat, for example. And the International Rice Research Institute has warned that the quality of rice available to consumers will decrease as temperatures rise, the report noted.

The U.S. should embrace research into animal biology and plant management with the kind of enthusiasm it did space exploration in the 1960s, the council said, warning that the consequences of inaction could be severe.

There is nothing we can’t blame on Global Warming, but nobody is willing to make the necessary sacrifices commensurate with the narrative. Please help me understand that.

    Define climate.

    No one takes you seriously.

“The council has been examining the effects of climate change on food for several months”

    Sounds like a robust study.

When have we heard a warning like this that was completely debunked? Let’s take a walk down memory lane, shall we?

“The battle to feed humanity is over. In the 1970s hundreds of millions of people will starve to death in spite of any programs embarked upon now. At this late date nothing can prevent a substantial increase in the world death rate…”
-from “The Population Bomb”, by Paul Erich, Stanford University, 1968

Fortunately, we didn’t embrace Erlich’s recommendation of forming a Department of Population and Environment which “should be set up with the power to take whatever steps are necessary to establish a reasonable population size in the United States”. We’re in the same place again with the Global Warming narrative.

You know it’s horse hockey when the Warmistas keep repeating the same old tired stories year in, year out.

You have some serious logical deficiencies.

Bitter. Since when have you ever “predicted” anything correctly?

There have been 16 great famines over the past 60 year history killing 10’s of millions, if not 100 millin people (statistics during famine are hard to track.) The Great Chinese Famine killed 30 million alone. (The Two Child policy began in China in 1970 and the One Child policy began in 1977.) Africa now has the highest birth rate on the planet and the has seen a parade of Famines in recent decades killing people in the millions.

Climate Change like Gravity and DNA is here whether “you” believe it or not.
