Oracle chief sells Tahoe estate for $20 mil.
By Candace Taylor, Wall Street Journal
Oracle billionaire Larry Ellison has sold one of his Glenbrook properties for $20.35 million, according to public records.
The sale closed in mid-July and names the buyer as a California-based entity called Residential Property Mgmt LLC.
The property is one of three parcels Ellison had listed together for $28.5 million in 2013 with Jennie Fairchild of Chase International. It contains a 9,242-square foot main house, which Ellison spent three years remodeling, with six bedrooms, eight full baths and one half bath. There is a soundproof screening room, a gym, a billiard room, a library and a sauna. Also on the property is a 1,326-square-foot, two-bedroom, three-bath guest house.
The other two parcels — including a roughly 3,000-square-foot lakefront house and an adjoining vacant lot — are still on the market, priced at $4.15 million, Fairchild said in an email. She declined to discuss the details of the sale.
Interesting. ‘Cause he just bought the last hold-out hotel on Molokai. A very old, classic plantation style place where I stayed as a kid. He now owns every hotel room on the island.
That is very interesting Dogula. My best friend from Lahainaluna High School is now the Fire Cheif on Moloka’i, and my oldest sister’s long time boyfriend from years ago is the Postmaster there. Both Lahaina boys.
We probably have connections, Toogee. I was born and raised on Oahu. Had friends/relatives on Maui and the Big Island, but only a few. It was nice over there back small kid time.
Dogula, I went to Kaimuki Intermediete School for two years on Oahu at the same time Israel Kamakawiwo’ole, Bruddah Iz, was there. My brother graduated from Kalani in ’74.
Wow. I graduated Maryknoll in ’74. Had a boyfriend at Kalani-Eric Davis. Played guitar. Another kid who was a couple years back at Kalani ended up here ski instructing at Heavenly some time ago-Mark Prigian. Tahoe is still a small town like Oahu was when we were kids.
Dogula I just read an article about Larry Ellison. It’s actualy all the hotel rooms on Lana’i, not Moloka’i, that he owns. Here is a link to the article.

What’s really annoying is that TRPA embraces all these huge mansions and golf course lodges right on the lake – yet absolutely crushed the number of smaller residential constructions allowed in the 2012 RPU.
Follow the money people ………
Dog. Remember the “golden rule.” He who has the gold… makes the rules. Ah, Molokai is too windy.
