Expect delays on Hwy. 50 in S. Lake Tahoe

Sections of Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe will be repaired with overnight work beginning Sept. 9.

The work will take place on sections between the Trout Creek Bridge and the Y, and also in spots from Wildwood Avenue to Stateline.

These are in areas of the highway that haven’t yet been repaved during Caltrans water-quality improvement projects.

The work is scheduled from Tuesday to Friday, from 6pm-6am, and will require alternating eastbound and westbound lane closures. Weather delays or other unforeseen factors could extend the work into the following week.

It’s about time they started doing that work at night. I’m so sick of them closing a lane a half mile of more before the construction starts. Have to love the way they put five or six share the road signs up in the bike trail. Also the business open signs blocking the entrance to the business are a nice touch.

I agree. I appreciate the night work.

Paving at night time! Caltrans did that years ago on 50 goin’ right thru town and it worked out great!
I’d drive to work in the morning and there would be a whole ‘nother section done.
Now if the City of SLT could scrape up the money to repair our crumbling and cracking residential streets, I’d be one happy camper. Be good and pray for snow. OLS
