• The Nov. 18 9am South Lake Tahoe City Council meeting will include the state of the city address from Mayor Hal Cole.

• Barton Health’s Hospice on Dec. 3 from 6-7pm will honor those who have died. Light Up a Life is free and all attendees will receive a personalized ornament. For more info or to share an honoree, call 530.543.5581. The event is at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe.

• State Sen. Ted Gaines, R-Roseville, received an A grade for the eighth year in a row on the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association’s 2014 Legislative Report Card.

• The National Environmental Education Foundation and Toyota have granted the League to Save Lake Tahoe $2,000 to enhance several volunteer programs in 2015, including the annual Tahoe Forest Stewardship Day; Keep Tahoe Red, White & Blue Beach Cleanups on July 5; and Eyes on the Lake trainings and survey days.
