Reno patient being monitored for signs of Ebola

A traveler who visited one of the three West African nations experiencing an Ebola outbreak and returned to the United States and the Reno area, is being actively monitored by the Washoe County Health District for appearance of any symptoms of Ebola.

According to the Washoe County Health District, the individual was not involved in treating Ebola patients and did not have any known exposure with a person sick with Ebola.

The individual is cooperating with local health officials, and is being actively monitored according to CDC guidance for a 21-day period.
