tahoe douglas fire• Mark Novak, assistant fire chief for Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District, is going to be the No. 1 guy for the Vail Fire Department starting in February.

    Yeah, that ‘thin ice’ thing is a real concern. Right now with all the new visitors in town, Sawmill Pond looks nice and frozen and tempting. But it was water only 4 days ago!
    Be careful out there!

    Chief Slowroller I think Novack leaving is the best thing for he and his family. Vail knows exactly what they’re getting because they do thorough background checks on outside chiefs that they hire. UNLIKE Lake Valley Fire “Protection” District.
