SnowGlobe worker accused of grand theft
A Reno man working at SnowGlobe is accused of stealing items worth more than $17,000 from the lost and found bin of the three-day outdoor concert in South Lake Tahoe.
Jermaine Williams, 38, was arrested Jan. 1 on grand theft charges.
Police officers said Williams stole smart phones that had been turned into security. The phones had been locked in a storage case in the Lake Tahoe Community College gymnasium.
Police were notified after someone allegedly saw Williams putting the phones into a suitcase. That suitcase with the 44 phones has since been located with all the phones inside.
“During the investigation one of the theft victims arrived at the event location, looking for Williams. This victim explained that she had called her own phone in an attempt to find it. Jermaine Williams answered this call. According to the victim, Williams had instructed her to meet him near the SnowGlobe stage. Williams told the victim that he would return her victim phone for $20,” police said in a press release.
Officers are investigating whether additional contract workers stole other lost and found items.
All lost and found goods from the Dec. 29-31 event are now in the possession of the police department; with officers in the process of trying to find the rightful owners. To retrieve an item, call 530.542.6145.

Bwahahahaha! stupid as he looks.
Shocking!
Piece of garbage!
Curious if he was an actual “hire” or if he was one of the MANY “volunteers”. Fly by night operation almost guarantees criminals in positions of authority. Lotta shady stuff going on in the name of money.
I am sure he listed his previous occupation as “redistribution specialist” with a lot of experience. This does show the lack of employment/volunteer screening and supervision that can happen with these events that are bad news. Glad his extra income career as a thief was interrupted for a time. He will face the new version of the senile Jerry justice system of a hand slap and get out of jail free card issued to all new felons who had the bad luck to be caught. This is more of a career interruption and temporary setback.
I am so glad the concert promotor hired so many “security personnel”….has he considered background investigations?????
New Years Resolution:
Next year don’t get too high at Snow Globe and lose new smart phone mommy and daddy gave me for Christmas.
Not sure how Snow Globe is to blame since the #1 source of theft form nearly every “legitimate” business is from employees, but none the less, this nit wit is clearly not very bright. Bad enough being a thief, but a stupid thief continues to amaze.
Municipalities should not be in the business of running tourist attractions, particularly on public property. Those that do are placing taxpayers who probably had no say in such events at risk for lawsuit(s) should something bad occur.
Umm Brian… Does that go for entertainment attractions as well… like Sporting attractions on School property. Could be a slippery slope.
Municipalities all over the country contract with vendors, promoters and lesee’s to operate events, golf course, concerts recreation facilities, attractios etc. Happens everyday with no problems.
There aren’t many night time sub-zero outdoor concerts on public property with tax payer liability for bad results that I have seen. Outdoor sports stadiums and ski resorts aren’t comparable. Bad idea and very foreseen liability for trouble.
I guess that Dropping the Ball at Midnight thing in the middle of New York in the middle of winter with music and such is just a harbinger of bad results.
Once again, rock…, need “like” button…
