Talk to focus on Tahoe’s railroad history

Lake Tahoe’s railroad history will come to life Feb. 19 with a presentation by Jerry Blackwill.

Blackwill is vice president of Strategic Planning for the Truckee Donner Railroad Society and board president of the Sierra State Parks Foundation

He will be telling the story of how Duane L. Bliss, William Seth Bliss, Walter D. Bliss, Duane L Bliss Jr, and Frank Titus built and ran this tourist system, laying the foundation for Lake Tahoe’s present day tourist industry.

The talk is at 7pm at the Truckee Veterans’ Memorial Building,10214 High St., Truckee. Cost is $10.
