The Dirt Floor Band at Homewood

The Dirt Floor Band plays Homewood ski resort March 27 from noon-3pm.

Folk, country and rock intersect with five men who call themselves The Dirt Floor Band. You’ll hear some of the basics like guitar and percussion, along with a mandolin, banjo and harmonica thrown in for good measure. They write most of their own music, but have also covered some familiar songs by the Talking Heads, Donovan, Old Crow Medicine Show, Ween, the Minutemen and Whiskeytown.

The combination of a love for rock and funk has brought this group of four men together forming a jammin’ Lake Tahoe crew. These passionate musicians exhibit their chemistry through jamming guitars, expressive vocals, and shredding keyboard rhythms that will inspire vibrations throughout the entire audience, leaving few in their seats by the end of the show.

Early has a long history with music, having worked late nights in Memphis blues clubs and hosting his own R&B radio show in Colorado.

Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance

The 38th annual Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance is Father’s Day weekend — June 18-20 — at the Sierra Boat Company in Carnelian Bay on Lake Tahoe’s north shore.

In addition to the dozens of restored wooden boats from all makes, models, and years, the Marque Class for 2010 will be “Classic Glass” (up to 1964), and will consist of two subclasses: “Transitional Fiberglass,” to include boats manufactured with wood hulls and fiberglass accessories such as fins, hard tops, or decking, and “Full Fiberglass,” boats manufactured primarily out of fiberglass.

Skiercross competition at Sugar Bowl

Sugar Bowl Resort hosts two sanctioned U.S. Skiing FIS Nor-Am Cup skiercross competitions Feb. 1-3.

Top-level skiercross competitors from around the world will descend upon Sugar Bowl to race the new skiercross course on the Tunnel 41 trail, located off the Mt. Judah Express quad chair.
