Thanksgiving on the Tahoe Queen

The Tahoe Queen paddle-wheeler is having special Thanksgiving dinner cruise from 5:30-9:30pm.




Baked Potato Bingo fundraiser

St. Theresa School is have a Baked Potato Bingo fundraiser on Nov. 21 to raise money for eighth-graders to go to Washington, D.C.

The event is being emceed by comedian Howie Nave.

The potato bar opens in Grace Hall at the South Lake Tahoe church at 4pm; with the first game of bingo starting at 5pm.

There is a $10 minimum buy-in for Bingo Packet which is good for 10 games; its $2 for Kid Bingo

More than $500 in prizes have been donated from local businesses.

Raffle items include a 19-inch flat screen TV.

Beer and wine are not included in the price.

Tickets are available from any eighth-grade student, at the front office of Saint Theresa School at 1081 Lyons Ave., or at the door.

Ice skating show in South Tahoe

On Dec. 5 at 5pm the Tahoe Figure Skating Club will be performing to holiday music. The Lake Tahoe Elementary Choir will be performing also.
The free event is at the  South Tahoe Ice Arena.




Slow Food Lake Tahoe meets

Learn about Slow Food Lake Tahoe on Nov. 11 at 4pm at the Dragonfly restaurant in Truckee.

Slow Food Lake Tahoe is a nonprofit organization started in 2007 whose mission is to reconnect people to the enjoyment of good, clean and fair food, as well as clean and fair goods, and to educate the community about its role as co-producers.

Monthly meetings are the second Wednesday of the month.

Veterans Day ceremony at the American Legion in South Lake Tahoe starts at 11am.




Pints and Paddles

Pints and Paddles cruise on Nov. 19 on the Tahoe Queen out of South Lake Tahoe; cruising from 6:30-9:30pm.

This cruise features the band Truckee Tribe and Sierra Nevada Brewing Company.

Santa Paws photos

Lake Tahoe Humane Society and SPCA’s 23rd Annual Santa Paws Photo Event to benefit local Tahoe animals in need is Dec. 5 and Dec. 6 from 11am-3pm inside Lakeview Plaza, 3300 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe. (Next to Bank of America.)

It costs $20 for multiple poses on photo CD and includes raffle ticket.

There will also be a pet gift sale, food and drink.

Pets must be on a leash or in carrier.

Burger night benefits CASA

CASA El Dorado is having a fund raiser on Nov. 18 from 5-7pm at Ernie’s Coffee Shop.

Owners, Paul and Judy Bruso and their amazing Ernie’s Coffee Shop staff have generously offered up their famous burger, soda and fries meals for the night.

Proceeds from the fundraiser go directly to your local Court Appointed Special Advocate program. CASA El Dorado, a nonprofit organization, recruits, trains, and matches volunteer advocates with abused or neglected children that are part of the court system through no fault of their own. CASA volunteers are appointed directly by a judge and attend each court hearing, advocating for the best interests of the child. CASA is a national organization serving in counties throughout the United States. CASA El Dorado has served more than 400 children in the last 12 months alone, speaking up as a voice for children.
