Heavenly Village sends woman on $1,000 shopping spree

The Shops at Heavenly Village awarded the $1,000 shopping spree giveaway to South Shore resident Debi Schild.

Her name was drawn out of hundreds and she’ll now have some extra money to spend this holiday shopping season.

The Shops at Heavenly Village are working hard to encourage local residents to come down and enjoy all that the Village has to offer. Many merchants are offering discounts and special coupons along with the free parking to entice residents to visit the Shops.

•All locals need to do is sign up for the new shoppers club program. Just enter online to receive email coupons from the shops at www.theshopsatheavenly.com.

•Every other month, coupons are emailed to program members and there is no cost to join. In addition, members are eligible for the bi-monthly $100 shopping spree giveaways.

Heavenly about to raise season pass

Heavenly Mountain Resort is extending its their discounted season pass price for five days. The adult Heavenly season pass will be available for $369 through Dec. 18. Prices will increase Dec. 19.




Book signing at South Tahoe museum

The revised “South Lake Tahoe Historic Photo Album” will be introduced at the Lake Tahoe Museum in South Lake Tahoe on Dec. 18 from 2-4pm.

Also, David Antonucci will sign his new book, “Snowballs Chance – The Story of the 1960 Olympics”.




Placer, El Dorado swine flu clinics

With the arrival of additional vaccine, Placer and El Dorado counties have scheduled free H1N1 flu clinics.

* Dec. 16 from 11am-3pm at the North Tahoe Event Center, 8318 North Lake Blvd., Kings Beach.

* Dec. 17 from 4-7pm at Lake Tahoe Community College, One College Drive, South Lake Tahoe, in the Board Room/Aspen Room. (The South Lake Tahoe clinic is co-hosted by the Health Services Department, Barton Health, Lake Tahoe Unified School District and Lake Tahoe Community College.)

AT&T plans to erect tower in South Tahoe

AT&T is proposing to install a telecommunications tower at 2543 Lake Tahoe Blvd. in South Lake Tahoe. That property is where Tahoe Grille is.

The proposal calls for an 80-foot “stealth tree monopole tower.” It would have 12 antennas mounted to the pole. Equipment would be installed in a 30 foot by 30 foot fenced area.

Weather cancels some South Shore activities

The Saturday night play at South Tahoe High School has been canceled. Tickets are good for either of the shows on Sunday.

Due to the predicted high winds and heavy snow, the Tahoe Queen will not be cruising this evening. Instead, the Sierra Sunset Dinner dockside from 5:30-8:30pm. Ticket price will be reduced to $40 for adults and $20 for children.

Zephyr Cove Snowmobiling Center will be closed throughout the weekend due to hazardous conditions. This storm cycle will bring us enough snow to have all trails open and ready for the 10am tour Dec. 15.
