Mt. Tallac High School has a speakers forum that invites community members to speak with students at the school. South Tahoe students get an opportunity to learn that by engaging in conversation with these community member, students can impact positive changes within their school and community.

South Tahoe seeks city treasurer

South Lake Tahoe is looking for a city treasurer to finish out Steve Wysong’s term that expires in a year. Wysong died earlier this week after a long illness.

USFS Federal Advisory Committee meeting

Lake Tahoe Basin Federal Advisory Committee (LTFAC) is scheduled to meet from 1-4pm Dec. 14 at the U.S. Forest Service, Emerald Bay Room, 35 College Drive, South Lake Tahoe.

LTFAC will address issues related to federal activities at Lake Tahoe. Items on the agenda include: aquatic invasive species management; environmental improvement plan update; forest management on the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, and public comment.

No public services will be available at the following Placerville locations due to ongoing power failure and persistent icy conditions:

* Human Services and Public Health Facilities on Spring Street

* Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Business Office on 415 Placerville Drive

* Animal Services Business Office on 415 Placerville Drive

* Animal Services Shelter on 511 Placerville Drive
