Ski report: Less than ideal conditions

It’s another challenging day for resorts because of extreme winds and weather.

Heavenly, Kirkwood, Sierra, Boreal, Mt. Rose, Sugar Bowl and Squaw Valley are closed.

Comstock at Northstar is on wind hold

Sierra Avalanche Center is reporting a danger level of 4 — high.

Ski report: Wind not letting up

Time to find a resort not impacted by wind.

Sugar Bowl and Mt. Rose are closed today. Heavenly and Squaw are starting the day on wind hold.

Wind and weather are going to make for less than ideal conditions the slopes today.

Heavenly is starting on wind hold. The upper mountains of Squaw Valley and Kirkwood are also on wind hold.

Ski report: Hang on because the wind is howling

While the brunt of the next storm is not expected to arrive until tonight, the wind is causing problems this morning. Mt. Rose won’t be opening today. Heavenly is starting on wind hold.

Get out early today because wet weather is moving in. A more significant storm system is coming through Thursday evening.
