Ski report: More terrain keeps opening up

Time to get out and ski off all those extra helpings of Thanksgiving dinner.

Mt. Rose, Boreal, Sugar Bowl and Northstar have top to bottom skiing.

Ski report: Wind a problem at resorts

Blustery doesn’t even begin to describe what it’s like outside.

Heavenly will start the day on wind hold.

Squaw Valley has Red Dog and Squaw Creek on wind hold.

Mt. Rose has Lakeview Lift and NW Magnum 6 on wind hold.

Ski report: Wind will be a factor

Temperatures are expected to be in the 30s to 40s today. Wind will be the main thing to worry about.

Heavenly is starting on wind hold, so call the resort to know if the gondola is spinning.

Ski report: Clouds will hang around

This weekend’s storm added to the snowpack at all resorts. Thanksgiving is looking good.

Expect clouds today and temps in the 40s.

Ski report: Stormy weather on the slopes

Dress in layers and make sure one of them is a waterproof jacket. It will be a mix of rain and snow today.

Wind will also be a factor. This means lift operations could be affected. Heavenly is starting the day on wind hold. Check the resort’s website for updates.

Ski report: Likely to be wet on the slopes

Add  Sugar Bowl to the list of ski resorts in the Lake Tahoe area that are open.

Mammoth is reporting 8 inches of snow in the last day.

In Tahoe today, it’s going to be a mix of rain and snow, so dress accordingly.

I had a great day skiing Heavenly on Wednesday. Conditions are better than expected. Take your good skis.
